In general, we prefer using microfiber towels for our golf game so that’s what we look for first and foremost out of a golf towel. From there, we like products that have magnets as we’ve had many a carabiner clip break or loosen its attachment to our golf bag and then the golf towels goes bye-bye.
You should also look for price points that run under $50 because golf towels do wear out eventually. You’re not keeping this thing in a pristine case after all – you’re dunking it in water and wiping dirt and grime off of your golf clubs multiple times in a round more than likely. For us, we like to wet our golf towel at the beginning of the round because we find that some moisture helps clean our clubs and balls more quickly. Should you wet your golf towel?
We do like to wet our towels so that it is usable for majority of a round which is why absorbency is a factor in our picks above. That said, we don’t think its absolutely necessary to wet the towel in dry conditions. If you are playing somewhere damp it probably does make sense to use a wet towel to ensure all of the dirt is out of the grooves.
